When a mom helps another mom, she pays it forward.

Because she knows what it's like to have a toddler in a tantrum on a hot summer day. She knows what it's like to keep failing to get her to calm down and to combat flailing arms and swinging legs.

A Mother’s Love by Danielle Sherman-Lazar

We’ve all felt frustrated, overwhelmed, and like we’re at the end of our rope.

We’ve all felt like we’re losing our minds.

When a mom helps another mom, she makes a difference. She lifts her up. She makes her feel less alone in the bad moment.

And even if her effort doesn’t help, her kindness does.

Because here’s the thing, we have no idea what she’s dealing with at any given moment. Maybe her mother’s sick. Maybe her daughter was just diagnosed with something scary. Maybe her anxiety is bad.

And we can’t judge her based on one interaction.

We can’t judge the mom who’s sitting there on her phone, not paying attention, while her son’s trying and struggling to get on a swing. Help her son and smile. Maybe she’s on an important call about her son’s behavior issues. Or maybe it’s a work call.

We can’t roll our eyes at the mom who takes forever at check out at the grocery store because her toddler keeps running away. Help her. She’s doing her best.

We’re all very different women and mothers, but we have one big thing in common, we have a lot on our plates with our children.

So, let’s be quick to spread kindness, give each other a helping hand, or at least a solidarity nod instead of passing judgment, okay?
